Ripley Update

Hi Simone:

A quick update to let you know how the "Big Guy" is doing.

He aced his first obedience classes and is on his 3rd set of agility classes where he ranges from very good when Sandie takes him to only so so
when I take him.  I guess a lot has to do with the handler eh?    I'm going to continue to take him and we hope to start some fun matches in the late Spring.
We have a trainer coming in for a few weeks of private lessons to help us with him and Molly as they really react, and feed off each other, to
neighbours, the post man, etc.  They take turns getting each other going and it's gotten a bit too much so we are dealing with it. Other than that he's basically a gentle pussy cat who likes to curl up with
me on the couch or lie in the bed right at my head.  He's been really quite good with other dogs and has cut down quite a bit on his need to hump everything in sight !!

His favourite "game" is to play hockey downstairs with Molly and I.  They chase pucks around as I shoot them ( the pucks, not the dogs :) ) and they both scream their fool heads off.

He's about 42 lbs now and seems to be stable at that weight.  The Vet gave him the full meal deal and other than needing a rabies shot was good to go.He felt Ripley was pretty well at his ideal weight now. The Vet was quite impressed with his gentle demeanor.
We run into Sawyer quite a bit at the Lynn River and have also met Jackson at the Fraser River.   Also met Seymour at Barnett Park.  He is one of Topper's sons. My Sister breeds Havenese and one of her friends and fellow Havenesersin California owns the infamous "Schooner" who is Molly's Dad and sired a number of Lisa's litters.  She was quite interested in Ripley's black nose and said that black is favoured by the judges in California now.

Have attached a couple of pics of "Ripples" for you taken at the cabin.

Cheers,
John
